Figaro qua… Figaro là…
Coucou les filles!
Last night my love booked for us two tickets at the Opèra Bastille, I love when he does that as you already know how much I enjoy spectacles. This time we attended the famous Rossini’s opera “The Barbier of Seville”!

If you have ever attend an opera spectacle before, because you think it might be too tedious to you, I warmly suggest you to start with this one. This Rossini’s creature is considered as one of the greatest masterpieces of opèra comique and basically is a comedy within music.

The Count Almaviva falls in love with Rosina, a young beautiful mademoiselle. To conquer a place in her heart he pretends to be a poor student (Lindoro), this way he can be sure to be loved for his soul and not for his richness. Unfortunately, Dr. Bartolo (Rosina’s tutor) plans to marry her himself and keeps her locked in house.
But here comes our hero Figaro, il factotum della città!!! He decides to help the Count so he can meet his adorable Rosina and… the rest is so much funny… You can’t miss this masterpiece my dears. I’m sure you’ll love it!

I was so lucky to be in the first line and enjoy every minute of this opera buffa and the fact that I could understand all the dialogs in Italian language was such a joy! As you can see the Opèra Bastille is quite a modern space in contrast to the Opèra Palais Garnier.

The scene costumes and choreography were so accurate. The soprano and tenor were so charismatic.. everything was perfect!

I loved this act, I laughed so much. Pure pleasure for my ears, my eyes and mostly for my soul! I didn’t want it to end… on our way out we were still laughing!
We continued our night by having dinner in a really cute Bistròt. We set ourselves in the open air and enjoyed a bottle of red Bardolino wine, in pure Italian style.. Couldn’t have been otherwise ;)

What about you? Have you ever assisted to an opèra act?
